Thompson Center Cougar .50 caliber Hawken.
The percussion lock, buttplate, trigger guard, and all stock furniture are stainless steel. The barrel is the only blued metal on the "cougar" model Thompson Center Hawken style rifle. The bore is bright with sharp rifling. The stock bears evidence that the previous owner was a woodsman, showing the light dings and scratches common to a hunters' rifle. Another, even better evidence, is that the barrel has been drilled and tapped to accommodate mounting a scope if desired.

Browning Mountain Rifle .54 caliber.
Not manufactured in many year, the Browning Muzzleloading Rifle is still considered one of the best manufactured rifles of the traditional design ever manufactured. The thirty inch octagon barrel measures one inch across the flats, and is rifled for the round ball slow twist. The nose cap is pewter. This rifle's previous owner used the Browning Mountain Rifle as a hunting rifle inflicting the scar common to all hunters' rifles. In addition to the unfired fifty-four caliber barrel, is the fifty caliber Browning Mountain Rifle barrel. This barrel's bore shows evidence of the use of PYRODEX.

Thompson Center Hawken .45 Percussion ML Rifle.
The stock is of the early Thompson Center design with the sharp accent to the cheek piece and wrist common to the first years of production. The barrel is not Thompson Center, and modification to the lock is evident; although done very professionally. The bore appears to be a one in forty-eight inch rate of twist. The bore is clean with sharp rifling.

Kentucky Flintlock .50 cal (Traditions) Muzzleloading Rifle.
It is correct to assume that the original Kentucky rifle had a longer barrel, and did not have the brass joining plate midway on the forearm. And perhaps the lock was somewhat larger overall, but, with that said, how you can say anything against a replica firearm that has brought more converts to the hobby of muzzleloading. In addition, this replica alone has planted the seeds of interest in American history that few other objects can rival. Plus, it is well known that even the much higher priced recreations of historic American firearms will not out shoot the Traditions Kentucky muzzleloader. This is a new in the box firearm.
